Following the great success of the past 3 years Greek Summer Camp, we are happy to announce that Odyssey Charter School will be offering the camp once again this year.
The Greek Summer Camp at Odyssey Charter School provides an opportunity for existing students to increase their exposure to the Greek culture and language through a variety of fun indoor and outdoor activities. Odyssey’s goal is to have each child make real progress in his or her new language in an enjoyable, carefree and relaxed atmosphere.
The Camp is giving our students an opportunity to converse and interact with our team of Greek native-speaking teachers, and gain language competency and understanding of Greek customs and age old traditions.
Campers spend each day moving from one activity to the next, including special “No English” times, designed to provide an immersion experience while still allowing for a ton of fun.
In addition to Greek Language instruction, campers will also enjoy theater, art, computer, Greek traditional games, sports and yoga. Activity types will alternate between hands-on and visual learning experiences.
The day starts with a morning welcome followed by breakfast. Snacks will be offered throughout the day. Best of all, a lunch of traditional Greek/Mediterranean cuisine will be freshly baked by experienced Greek cooks.
The camp will be offered for two weeks: June 15 to the 19th and June 22 to the 26th. Parents will have the option of signing up for one or both weeks. Only OCS students presently enrolled in grades K to 7 are eligible to sign for the Greek Summer Camp.
Camp hours will be 9:00am - 3:00pm with the optional provision of before and/or aftercare.
Price for Camp: $275 per week, sibling $175 each ($150.00 deposit per student will be required by May 22nd).*
Optional Before/After Care provided at an additional charge.
Before Care (7:30-9:00am): $25 per week
After Care (3:00-5:30pm): $32 per week
Special note: Camp price includes breakfast, a traditional Greek/Mediterranean lunch and an afternoon snack at no additional cost.
Maximum number of students that can be accommodated this year at the camp is 150. Priority will be given to 50 students participating in the NSLP and approved for Free and Reduced Cost categories. The remaining 100 positions will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
OCS staff who would like their children to participate must also complete applications.
