Odyssey Charter School is a publicly-funded Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school located in Wilmington, Delaware. Since its inception in 2006, Odyssey Charter School has provided the families of Delaware with a first-class public school education.
The 6th graders put on a fantastic fundraiser at the Bellefonte Arts Festival on Saturday, May 16. About half of the class came to work a shift. The students decided to do this for their service learning (community service) project. They planned it all out, did the research, did the baking, and sold homemade pet treats for $1.00. They are proud to donate $228 to Faithful Friends Animal Shelter. From this experience, they’ve learned about organization, cooperation, advertising, citizenship, and economics.
We are so proud of our 4th graders! They held a VERY successful yard sale at the Lower School on May 2nd and were able to collect $602 donation for the Delaware SPCA. Our funds will be used to feed and vaccinate animals at their shelters. Our 4th graders were also presented with a Certificate of Appreciation. From this experience, students have learned life-long skills in research, organization, cooperation, service, and economics.
7th grade students worked on a National History Day project celebrating individuals who showed leadership and established a legacy.
Demolition of the existing buildings at Barley Mill has started to make room for our new sports complex. It is going to be an exciting year for Odyssey!
The Upper School fax machine is currently not working. If you need to fax anything to Odyssey, please fax to the Lower School at 302-994-6915.

Greetings Odyssey Charter School Families,The spring holidays have concluded and April has been bringing in some really nice warm weather. It has been great to have the students playing outside for recess, getting fresh air, and soaking up the sunshine. As we continue into our last quarter, we are working to help our students keep focused on becoming better readers, writers, and mathematicians.
The warm weather is also helping to spur on the work at our new upper school. With the successful completion of our nearly $35 million bond offering now completed, we have begun the actual project of renovating the campus at Barley Mill Plaza. Recently two of the eight buildings we purchased as part of our Barley Mill Plaza purchase are in the process of being demolished, according to plan. The area around these buildings is slated to become our playing fields and track.
Our new upper school in BMP #22 has been gutted. The first floor already has new metal studding and drywall. According to Dimitri Dandolos, Project Supervisor for Odyssey School, we are moving ahead on time and according to budget. It is truly exciting to see the beginnings of our new unified campus begin to take shape with these new developments.
On Monday, March 16th, we had our Open House for perspective students in grades 4-8. View Presentation
