Odyssey Charter School is a publicly-funded Kindergarten through 6th grade elementary school located in Wilmington, Delaware. Since its inception in 2006, Odyssey Charter School has provided the families of Delaware with a first-class public school education.
In lieu of our PBS Kick-off, Ozzie visited the car line and classrooms in the school. What a great surprise!!
AHEPA (the founding organization of OCS) is the main organizer of this event. For the first time this year, the race was on the school's grounds. We had the biggest participation ever and everyone had a blast!
Our Kindergarteners with their teachers and volunteer parents, had a great time picking apples at Millburn Orchards. What a great way to welcome autumn!
Odyssey Charter School is featured on New Castle County TV (Channel 22 Verizon/Channel 29 Comcast/Facebook: New Castle County Government) for our First Place award in the Great Schools Clean Streams contest. Assistant Headmaster Denise Parks, PTO Secretary Jen Gannon and OCS students Evie Gannon and Ethan Towler spoke with host Melody Kitchen about strategies for winning first place and how the contest fit perfectly with OCS’s mission to create critically thinking, global citizens. Greetings Odyssey Families,
I hope this communication reaches all of you in good health and spirits. On behalf of the entire administrative team, I would like to welcome you back to the start of another exciting school year. Hopefully, summer has been an opportunity for quality time with all of your families.
I would like to personally thank each of you who participated in the School Beautification Project last Saturday and also to those of you who were able to attend the Back to School Social on Sunday at Brandywine Springs Park. Both of these events were extremely well attended and supported by our School’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Many thanks to the new slate of officers, led by President Mrs. Shamekia Martin, for getting us off to a great start.
Since we last spoke, there have been many new changes at Odyssey Charter School. We are currently in the process of completing our move from St. Thomas to the new Upper School at Barley Mill Plaza #22. Both buildings will be open for staff later this week, and we will begin our teacher In-service Program the week of August 24th. The first day for Kindergarten students is August 31st, with Grades 1-8 students starting on September 1st.
Interested in purchasing books from the Book Fair but unable to make it into the school for the mini book fair going on from 9/28-9/30? You can still support our school and the book fair when you place your order online. The online book fair will run from 9/23 - 10/6.
A Special Public Meeting of the Odyssey Board has been scheduled for the evening of September 29, 2015 at 7pm at the Elementary School, Bldg #20.
On Monday, March 16th, we had an Open House for prospective students in grades 4-8.
