What's Included.
Your rising 1st grader will complete literacy and math activities designed to maintain skills and build confidence before entering 1st grade. All summer work should be completed and turned in by Friday, September 26th to your homeroom teacher.

15-20 minutes of daily practice works better than longer, occasional sessions
Read together
Visit your local library and read aloud every day
Make it fun
Use games and real-world connections to practice phonics and math
Use manipulatives
Blocks, beans, or buttons help children visualize math concepts
Keep it positive
Celebrate effort and maintain a playful approach to learning

Point out words on signs, count objects during daily activities
