What the Board Does.

The Board meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:00pm — all meetings are open to the community. Board members have direct responsibility for the school's strategic direction, financial oversight, and compliance with the terms of its charter.

Governance and Law

How the Board Is Appointed.

OCS was founded by AHEPA (the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association), and Delaware law, along with OCS's governing documents, establish the board appointment structure.

Under this structure, AHEPA appoints a defined number of board seats, while the remaining seats are filled by non-AHEPA community members, parents, and staff members through an open nomination and selection process. This ensures that while AHEPA maintains its founding role, the board represents the broader OCS community.

The Non-AHEPA Nominating Committee oversees the process for identifying, nominating, and selecting board members who are not AHEPA appointees, ensuring that the board maintains both accountability to its founding organization and broad representation from families, educators, and community members served by the school.
