What's Included.
Students entering 8th grade are required to complete summer work in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Greek Language, and Social Studies to maintain skills and prepare for the transition to high school.

Summer reading is required. Students must choose one book from a curated list of graphic novels.
Reading Guidelines
- Graded Project: After reading, students will complete a graded project based on their book when they return to school.
- Content Review: The reading list features engaging graphic novels with varied genres. Parents should review Common Sense Media ratings.

Mathematics
Summer math work reviews the most important concepts from 7th grade to keep skills sharp. Students should show all their work on practice pages.
Due Date: September 19th
Fact Fluency Requirement
Students need to study multiplication facts 1 through 12. Practice using flashcards or online games until facts are known quickly and automatically.
High School Preparation
8th grade math provides the critical foundation for high school Algebra. Completing the appropriate packet ensures students maintain their mathematical reasoning and computation skills over the summer break.
Social Studies
Social Studies summer reading requires students to choose one historical fiction book to read.
