How to Choose Your Transportation
Every family selects one primary transportation method: full-time bus or full-time car rider. You'll confirm your choice when your child enrolls, and our Transportation Department will send specific route and car line information in early August.
Full-Time Bus Rider
Your child rides the same bus to and from school every day using the same bus stop for both morning and afternoon.
Full-Time Car Rider
Your child is dropped off in car line in the morning and picked up in car line in the afternoon. The person picking up can vary without notice, but must be authorized on your pickup form.
Transportation Exceptions
Requests for exceptions beyond bus or car rider (like switching between the two mid-year) are reviewed after September 30th each year and approved only if space is available. Documentation may be required. Do not plan on exceptions as your primary transportation.
Bus Schedules & Timing
Students should arrive at their bus stop ten minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Buses run on a fixed schedule and cannot wait for students who are late.
Morning Boarding & Afternoon Drop-off
In the morning, students in grades 6-12 can board independently. Students in K-5 must be received at the bus door by a parent or authorized guardian in the afternoon or they will be returned to school and dropped in Aftercare.
Aftercare Drop-in Fees
Students dropped in Aftercare will incur a drop-in fee of $40 per occurrence.
Schedule Changes
Any changes to your child's bus stop or transportation method must be made in writing to transportation@odyssey.k12.de.us and require 72 hours notice. Changes requested with less notice cannot be accommodated unless you pick up your child from school or request early dismissal.

OCS offers comprehensive bus service covering the greater Wilmington and New Castle County areas. Routes are organized by grade level. Detailed GPS maps are included with each route.

Dismissall: 3:30 - 3:55 PM
Car Line
Morning: 8:30 - 8:45 AM
Afternoon: 3:30 - 3:55 PM
Car Line & Parking
Our car line system ensures smooth, organized drop-off and pick-up at all five OCS buildings. Each campus has designated car line lanes with clear traffic flow.
Your car line map will show arrival and dismissal times, hang tag information, and traffic flow directions for your building. Please follow all car line procedures to keep our campus safe and keep traffic moving smoothly.

Visitor parking is available at each OCS building. Please display your visitor parking pass or follow staff directions when parking on campus for appointments, pick-up, or events.
Bus Safety and Conduct
The Odyssey Charter School Code of Conduct applies to all students on school buses. Buses are supervised by drivers who have the authority of classroom teachers.

Violations of bus safety rules may result in suspension or loss of bus privileges.
Making Changes
All transport changes must be in writing to transportation@odyssey.k12.de.us with 72 hours notice. Include full name, grade, current bus/building, and the requested change.
For changes with less than 72 hours notice, you must pick your child up at school.
Emergencies
If school closes early due to weather, families are notified via Blackboard Connect. Ensure your info is updated. Inclement weather routes have different schedules/stops.
Bus Stop Changes
Routes may change from year to year. Updates are posted on the site by late July. Read communications carefully!
