What's Included.
Your rising 5th grader will complete a reading log, math packet, and language work designed to maintain skills and prepare for the transition to middle school. All summer work should be completed and turned in by Friday, September 26th to your homeroom teacher.
ELA Packet
- Mandatory summer reading log (1 hour per week)

The ELA packet includes a mandatory summer reading log that tracks weekly reading. Here's how it works:
Each week
Your child should read for approximately 1 hour
Parent signature
You'll sign off on each week's reading completion
Flexibility
Reading can be done in sessions throughout the week
Variety
Encourage different types of reading (chapter books, graphic novels, magazines, non-fiction)
Discussion
Talk with your child about what they're reading
