Odyssey Charter School
Fundraising & Giving.
Fundraising at
Odyssey Charter School.
Odyssey Charter School is funded by a combination of public education dollars and community fundraising. Understanding this model explains how we deliver so much with less.
Public Education Funding
Approximately $17,509 per pupil annually. This covers salaries, operations, and core instruction.
How This Compares
The Gap
We operate on $13,000 to $14,000 less per student than neighboring districts, yet deliver:
- Dual-language immersion
- Innovation in teaching & learning
- Expanded arts, athletics & careers
- World-class 34-acre campus
This is possible because of supplemental community fundraising, approximately $1,500 per student annually, and incredibly efficient operations.
What are funds used for at OCS?
Supplemental fundraising at OCS closes the gap between public funding and the programs families expect. Community raised funds support:
Academic Innovation
Advanced technology infrastructure, AI integration in classrooms, professional development for educators, and specialized instructional materials that go beyond base curriculum.
Student Opportunities
Sports teams, arts programs, field experiences, college preparation, and career pathway development. Programs that keep no child on the sidelines.
Campus Excellence
Facility maintenance and improvements across our 34-acre campus, large-scale technology upgrades, and essential safety and security enhancements.
Student Support Services
Counseling and wellness programs, community food security initiatives, dedicated tutoring support, and critical resources for students experiencing barriers.
Signature Programs
Enhanced Greek language immersion instruction, our innovative hydroponics and aeroponics facilities, and community-driven food programs.
When the school meets its fundraising goals, every student benefits. When it falls short, priorities are adjusted and some opportunities shrink.
Community Fundraising Events.
Throughout the school year, OCS hosts fundraising events that build community while closing the funding gap. Here's what's coming:
