Find Your K-5 Student's Bus Route, Times, and Stops

Grades K through 5 students ride dedicated bus routes with consistent schedules throughout the greater Wilmington area.
Overview

How Bus Service Works for K-5

Students are assigned to a specific bus and pickup location based on where they live.

Morning Routine

Your child should be at the bus stop at least ten minutes before the scheduled pickup time each morning.

Afternoon Pickup

In the afternoon, a parent or authorized guardian must pick up your child at the bus door by the listed arrival time. If your child isn't picked up, our drivers will bring them back to campus and enroll them in aftercare that day. A drop-in fee of $40 applies each time this happens.

Student Conduct

All bus transportation follows the Odyssey Charter School Code of Conduct. Students are expected to respect the driver, stay seated, keep the bus clean, and follow safety rules. Serious conduct violations may result in losing bus privileges.

Find Your Child's Bus Route

Buses run Monday through Friday during the regular school year. Use the interactive route finder below to locate your bus and see all pickup times and locations for both morning and afternoon service.

How to Use the Route Finder

  • Search by bus number (e.g., "Bus 3") or by location name (e.g., "Hockessin", "Walmart", or "Fraim Club")
  • Click any bus to expand and see all stops
  • Choose Morning or Afternoon using the tabs to see the right schedule for your needs
  • Click the map link next to any stop to see the exact location on Google Maps
  • Your student should be at the bus stop ten minutes before the listed pickup time

What Your Child Should Know

Your student should be at the bus stop ten minutes early each morning. Find your stop in the route finder above to confirm the exact pickup time for your bus. The driver cannot wait for students who are late. In bad weather, your child should wait in a safe, dry place close to the pickup location. If your student is sick or will miss the bus, contact the transportation office right away at transportation@odyssey.k12.de.us or call (302) 516-8000, options 6 and 7.

Afternoon Pickup:For afternoon pickup, be at the bus door when your child's bus arrives. Students whose parents don't pick them up by the scheduled time will be taken to aftercare, and you will be charged a $40 fee for each occurrence.

Request Changes to Your Bus Route

All requests to change a bus stop or transportation option must be made in writing to transportation@odyssey.k12.de.us. The transportation team must receive your request at least 72 hours before the change takes effect. Requests made with less notice will not be approved unless you pick up your child at carline or sign them out for early dismissal. The transportation department reviews all changes based on bus capacity and reviews approval by October 15th each year.

Tracking Your Student's Bus

Use the WhereTheBus app to track your student's bus in real time. This free mobile app shows the exact location of the bus, estimated arrival time, and real-time notifications. Download it before school starts so you have live updates throughout the day.

If you encounter issues with the app, contact WhereTheBus support directly at support@wherethebus.com.

Bus Safety Rules

Your child's bus has a driver in charge who has the same authority as a classroom teacher. Your student must obey the driver promptly and treat the driver and other students with courtesy. Here are the bus rules:

Be on time. The bus runs on schedule and cannot wait for students who are late.
Keep a safe distance from the bus before boarding, especially while it is moving.
Enter the bus without crowding or disturbing others. Sit down immediately.
Stay in your seat while the bus is moving.
Keep the bus clean and do not damage the equipment.
No throwing items out of or around the bus.
No eating or drinking while riding.
Use electronic devices only according to school policy. Follow the driver's instructions.
Sports bags can come on the bus only if all equipment is zipped inside. Projects need to fit in a bag completely. Sports bags and instruments must fit on your lap.
Breaking these rules may lead to losing bus privileges.
