The Process

How Car Line Works

Car line is a queue-based system where vehicles move through a designated lane and students are released to you as your vehicle reaches the pickup point. Staff supervise the entire process to ensure every student reaches the correct vehicle safely.

You do not need to park and enter the building. Simply enter the car line lane, stay in motion, and our staff will bring your student to your vehicle.

The Car Line Process

1

Enter the Queue

Enter the queue at the designated car line entrance on your campus.

2

Keep Moving

Keep moving forward slowly. Avoid gaps between vehicles.

3

Watch for Staff

Staff will signal a student who matches your vehicle as you approach the pickup point.

4

Student Boards

Your student gets in the vehicle as you pull forward.

5

Exit Campus

Continue to the car line exit and leave campus safely.

The entire process moves continuously. Your job is to keep your vehicle moving at a safe, steady pace.

Tips & Guidelines

Tips for Successful Overview

To make the car line as smooth and safe as possible, please follow these guidelines every time you pick up your student.

Move Smoothly Through the Line

  • Keep your foot on the brake, not the accelerator
  • Don't use your phone while in car line
  • Avoid large gaps between your vehicle and the one in front of you
  • Be ready to accelerate when the vehicle ahead moves
  • Expect students to appear and be ready to unlock your door

Help Staff Help You

  • Have your student clearly identifiable
  • Know your child's full name so staff can find them quickly
  • If your child rides car line multiple times per week, staff will learn to recognize your vehicle
  • If you have a new vehicle, let the office know so staff can update their information

Arrive on Time

  • Plan to arrive a few minutes before dismissal so you're in the queue when students are released
  • Arriving too early means sitting in the parking lot
  • Arriving too late means missing your spot in car line
  • The car line operates on schedule. If you arrive late, your student may be sent to after care

Be Courteous

  • Thank the car line staff. They work hard to keep students safe
  • Don't chat with staff or other parents while in the line
  • If you have questions, pull into a parking spot rather than blocking the car line
Safety First

Important Policies & Safety

Please review these important policies regarding alternate pickup situations and safety rules.

If Your Child Isn't in Line

If you arrive for car line and your student isn't released:

  1. Pull into a parking spot. Don't block the line.
  2. Go to the office and ask for your child.
  3. Check to see if a different pickup arrangement was made.
  4. If your child is in after care, you'll be directed to pick them up from that location.

Regular miscommunication about car line disrupts pickup for other families. Always confirm pickup plans with your student the morning of pickup day.

Outside Car Line Hours

If you need to pick up your student outside car line hours or can't use the system:

  1. Call the main office in advance.
  2. Go to the main office building entrance, not the car line.
  3. Sign your child out in the office before leaving.
  4. Use marked visitor parking.

Planning an early dismissal? Let the office know at least one hour in advance so they can have your child ready when you arrive.

Pickup Policy

Your student will only be released to authorized adults listed on your student's enrollment form. School staff verify that names and relationships match.

If you regularly pick up someone who isn't listed, let the office know in advance so they can update your authorized pickup list. Never pick up another person's child without talking to the office first. Staff verify each match to keep students safe.

Safety Rules

Car line exists to keep students safe. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Don't park in car line zones while waiting for dismissal time.
  • Keep your vehicle in motion through the car line lane.
  • Remain alert. Student dismissal happens quickly.
  • Staff will bring students to your vehicle in the line.
  • Maintain a safe speed. Car line is not a race.
  • Keep younger passengers buckled and supervised.
  • Don't stop to chat or handle other business. Car line must keep moving.
