Find Your 6-12 Student's Bus Route, Times, and Stops
How Bus Service Works for 6-12
Your student is assigned to a specific bus and pickup location based on their home address.
Morning Schedule
Students should arrive at their bus stop at least ten minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Buses run on a fixed schedule and cannot wait for students who are late. If your student misses the bus, you'll need to arrange alternative transportation to school or contact the main office at 302-516-8000.
Afternoon Pickup
Unlike elementary students, middle and high school students do not need a parent or guardian at the bus door in the afternoon.
Student Responsibility
They are responsible for boarding safely and following all bus conduct rules outlined in the OCS Code of Conduct.
Your Student's Bus Assignment
Odyssey operates buses 1 through 22 serving grades 6-12 across Delaware. Most buses pick up at the middle school, with arrival times ranging from 7:10 AM to 7:18 AM. Afternoon dismissal varies by bus, with departures between 2:25 PM and 2:35 PM from the middle school.
Each bus serves specific neighborhoods and geographic areas. Most families have multiple bus options based on proximity to available stops. Your bus assignment letter will show your student's assigned bus number, morning pickup time, and afternoon drop-off location.

Morning Schedule
Morning pickups begin as early as 6:25 AM and arrive at the middle school campuses between 7:10 AM and 7:18 AM. Your student must be at their assigned stop at least ten minutes before the listed pickup time. Post that time on a visible spot at home so your student knows when to be ready.
If your student has a first-period activity or appointment, work with the transportation office to determine the best route or arrange an alternative.
Afternoon Schedule
Afternoon dismissal times vary by bus number. Most buses depart the middle school between 2:25 PM and 2:35 PM. Your student's bus stop for afternoon pickup may be different from the morning stop, so make sure they know both locations and times before school starts.
Students in grades 6-12 are released directly from class to their assigned buses. Unlike elementary students, they do not wait for a parent at the bus door.
Making Changes to Your Bus Stop
To change your student's bus stop or switch from bus to car line transportation, send a written request to transportation@odyssey.k12.de.us with at least 72 hours notice. Include your student's full name, grade level, current bus number, and the specific stop where you need them picked up or dropped off.
The transportation team reviews all requests and will contact you if they have questions. Changes are approved based on available seats on your preferred bus. If your first choice is full, the team will work with you to find an alternative that works for your family.
Requests made with less than 72 hours notice cannot be accommodated unless you pick up your student from school or they sign out for early dismissal.
Tracking Your Student's Bus
Use the WhereTheBus app to track your student's bus in real time. This free mobile app shows the exact location of the bus, estimated arrival time, and real-time notifications. Download it before school starts so you have live updates throughout the day.
If you encounter issues with the app, contact WhereTheBus support directly at support@wherethebus.com.
Bus Conduct and Safety Rules
Grades 6-12 students are expected to follow the Odyssey Charter School Code of Conduct on the bus. Bus drivers have the authority of classroom teachers and will enforce these rules. Serious violations may result in loss of bus privileges. Students must:
